Well, the 88GT I have been talking about is in my garage and I have the title and bill of sale! I don't know how to explain it but it's like a wall just got torn down and a huge weight off my chest of a mistake I made years ago and constantly haunts me. That being tearing apart my 90 and trying to go all out selling off so many components and taking on too many projects at once.

At first $3500 seemed steep for a 21 year old car with 184K miles, and being an automatic GT when I wanted a manual transed LX. (I have a TKO500 with all the trimmings but didn't want the hastle) Well... I drove it, doesn't squeek, pop, click, and hardly rattles anywhere. One owner car, adult driven and maintence records going back to when it was bought new. Bone stock under the hood except he put in a K&N and the old mufflers got a hole in it so he put in some flowmasters. The car drives good, and had a good interior. Also, it had a "no option" so it has manual mirrors and manual windows. The power windows gave me hell on my 90 and you can feel the difference when opening and closing the door of a manual windowed fox. Very original, very stock, very solid car, well worth $3500.

The 85 speedo is tripping me out, kind of commic, just is. An auto and 2.73 gears reminds me of when I drove a semi. It pulls good and has that feel that only in a fox you feel but it can't even turn the tires over. It needs some things like striker bushings and door seals, but come on, it's old enough to buy Alchohol.

Anyways... I have a lot of parts to put on it, but for now I am just so enjoying this. I am so fortunate for my dream car to only be $3500, seriously. Nothing like a Foxbody. Sure I'll miss some things about my old car but I think I'm going to get over it pretty quick.

Congrats Jason!

That's so awesome to get a mature one-owner car. IMHO one of those is worth double that of something with twice as much money worth of parts thrown into it.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I would definitely drive it for a bit before pulling it apart for anything. I bought my car for cheap money figuring I could just fix it up, then my son was born. :nice: I only got to drive my car for 6 months before the motor popped and its been a work in progress since april. Im itching to drive it so badly.

Ok ill be the one to do it.

Congratulations!

He's probably one of the better armed 5.0 guys. I think he'll hold his own. ;)

Yeah but with ammo prices these days.... Oh yeah, on 1-20 of this year I had a boating accident while deep sea fishing and all my guns went to the abyss... ;)

The life cycle of most Foxes is one hardick after another beating the hell out of it.

Yeah I know what you mean, this car drives great and I don't want to mess this one up. We all have memories of when our car was "stock" and its so hard to find a stock fox it's kind of special to have a stock fox... but it will get old, those 2.73 gears are driving me nuts.

so where exactly is Dallas GA??

Next to Ft.Worth, GA. :D No, West of Atlanta about half way to Alabama.

Grats!!! I just picked up my 88, hard to believe these things are classics lol. NEED PICS!!! :nice:

Yeah... I'm getting old too.

Wait , i was going to tell you not to buy it :D

J/K very nice score, at the end of the day 3,500 is nothing for a mustang

No kidding, anyone who has been shopping for one recently knows what kind of junk there is out there. Any decent one's are pricey. I didnt get a steal, I got about what a car of this age and condition is worth... but being a Fox makes it worth it's weight in Gold.

subscribing for pics

Alright, Alright...

I do agree people should be banned for this. Sorry it took so long but black foxes don't show up well on film at night.

Oh yeah... what's up with these seats, probally had to tell in the pics but my 90's seats didn't have a back this high?

Oh, and can a 90's Speedo Cluster go into a "88? The oil gauge doesn't work and this 85mph crap is just crap.

Wow, reminds me of when I got my 89, bone stock black on gray but mine was five speed. I miss her dearly. And even more about my brothers bone stock 88 auto black on gray. Nice car man, what are your plans with her? And no about the cluster, the wiring was changed in 90 and so was the cluster. And the seats were different too from 87-89. And holy no option car, no cruise, manual windows, looks like mirrors too. Your car probably weighs nothing! To think about it, my brothers 88 had the same options as that thing!

Looks very good! For your questions, just swap over some later model headrests, that will lower the seat some. I had some 87 GT seats for a while in my LX and I hated them. The later headrests are a slightly different color, or get some halos like Mike and I did. The only direct cluster swap is a 89 model since Ford changed the wiring in 90. You can swap out the speedo with some mods too, it is not a direct fit either.

Good luck with it!

You need an 89 cluster.
Let me dig up my old reciepts. There was this one dude selling the cop car clusters with the 160 speedo for $100 a while back. If I can find his number I will PM it to you. :nice:
