Anyone else notice there are a lot of junk 99-04 Mustangs on the road?

i think people bought these mustangs back when the enconomy was alright, now that its not, no one takes care of their crap. and america is getting lazy. working at advance auto shows me this. people dont spend money unless they have to. im not as anal as some on here, but my stuff stays pretty clean and im constantly fixing stuff. to most people though cars are just assets that they write off before it gets to that dreaded 100k mile mark.

some people are just stiff on money and stingy as ****. my friends girlfriend has a prestine 98 cobra she got, all paperwork, babied, well taken care of, she dosent spend money unless she has to, shes had it for atleast 4 or 5 months now, barely ever drives it, and has yet to change the oil. some how, people like her dont understand that in 20 years if you still have it , it makes no sense to say im glad i had 8k in the bank when i was 20, too bad the motor in my mustang **** out, when she could just change the oil, and one day have 200k+ on it. In my opinion, not changing the oil in your 8 thousand dollar car is nothing short of stupid.

I cant stand seeing riced out mustangs...i also dont know what the owner is thinking...do they actually think it looks good???? My mustang which I have not been able to post pics of it yet is probably the nicest GT around that I have seen....specially considering its my daily driving its in amazing shape...Some people just buy a mustang to say they have one..and never bother cleaning it... =[

Where I'm at I don't really see a lot of "junk" 99-04 Mustangs, but I do see a lot of neglected 99-04's, always six cylinders with a girl or a punk ass kid driving them.

I don't think there is a 99-04 v6 Mustang within a 50 mile radius of me that doesn't have 20 pounds of dirt on it.

because these car really see any abuse? generally you buy a mustang to abuse the crap out of not to keep as a garage queen , its a cheap car. hell , people here buy a 99-2004 as a beater for work around here , a used clean with 30-40K km is in the price range of a Stripped V4 Altima round here

i picked out my mustang for 21k usd in early 2004 , 0 on the odo , which is the price range of a new Maxima or v6 Altima or a fully loaded V6 Camry.[/QU

Yes it is sad to see a stang in sad shape...BUT how many of those cars would you say the majority of the damage could've been from the previous owner? Like my 99 gt convertible, yes it needs work but thats because i bought it in need of an engine, interior, and body work lol and ive just about completed everything except for the body work. Im sure i get people who think damn that kid doesnt take care of his stuff...but its not always true im doing the opposite! haha

Check out this sweet "Saleen" I was lucky enough to get pics of at my fav Mexican joint last week. Sorry for the sun light in the first pic. I would have got it from the other side but the passenger side didn't have the Saleen badge on the front fender. Must have been a delete option for weight reduction.
