um...not to be mean or anything, but what does it matter. I wouldnt ever post up that I was gonna race my buddies taurus/500 sedan, much less ask what the outcome would be. Go try it out, then keep the results to yourself either way LOL. With that said, you should come out on top, 500s are fun to drive with very peppy little six bangers, but they are heavy (heavier than you) and automatics. If you can launch at all you should be fine...if not, throw some mods on that GT and go race some real cars...please

i would think that you should be beat him. he does have 4 wheel drive but the car is heavy. if you know what your doing and get a good launch you should be fine.

you didn't say if you had a 5 spd or an auto and I assume your both going to be using street tires. Its really hard to say anything can happen so just let us know how it goes

Is it your first time at the track? Is it his? These are the things that will tell in the end. He's got all wheel drive so he's going to pull away if you're sitting there spinning. With some decent tires, you might grab traction off the bat and shouldn't have a problem with him.

Otherwise, if you're on street tires and new to the track, you're going to get antsy, nervous, hang it off the line, and spin like you're on ice. You're best bet would be to feather it until you're sure of traction and then just punch it like it owes you lunch money through the traps

How heavy are those things?

This is a deal where you cant win. If he wins, that sucks. It you win, he says "But yeah, you've got the V8!" and it's almost like you've lost. (Or, he might say "Let's try it in the rain.")

It might be best to keep him wondering.

I just looked... 203 horse, 207 torque. You have him beat in both. He also out weighs you by a solid 400 pounds.

Don't shift over 5200... you should walk all over him. My prediction is he maybe takes you off the line by 2-3 lengths then you have him reeled in by the 330' mark.

I'm guessing whoever gets to the finish line first.

Just kidding, I had to say it. My money's on your GT

I've been busy so not much time to post here, but he finally admitted last night that I'll take him. Plus I drove his car over the weekend so I know I'll take him.

Nothing is a guarantee when it comes to racing at the track. Ive beat quite a few cars who had more power and were faster then me. The point is you still need to drive it. Being on street tires it does not matter how much more power your car has if your spend the first two gears spinning down the track. The track is a lot different then driving on the street.
