Does the clutch cable in everyones aftermarket firewall adjuster stay flush with the adjuster? My adjuster itself is mounted firmly to the firewall, but I have noticed that the black plastic ring of the cable itself where the adjuster pushes against it is never flush. I am wondering if I routed the cable wrong when I installed a new one.

I have noticed an unsmooth feeling occasionally in the clutch pedal and have been complaining about shifting issues for years even after a new RPM Trans was put in the car.

Before I try another clutch and a new clutch fork (which I have never had replaced and probably should have many clutches ago) I want to make sure I have covered everything.

The car just doesnt shift right still... after a new tranny from RPM, a new MGW shifter, steeda quadrant, firewall adjuster and a new stock ford cable.

Mine was over the manifold, to the inner fender area, mounted with a bolt, then to bellhousing. Never sat exactly flush but was smooth as glass after the steeda adjustable cable install. After several tries the steeda was best.
