...and...it is louder than God right now and has an idle that shakes the entire car. a lot of that is thanks to the limp mode and essentially open exhaust ports, but that cam is going to have a LOPE. the videos aren't even close to how loud it is. there was a professional woodchipper in the driveway running full bore as the workers used my driveway to clear out the neighbor's tree down and when we fired it they all jumped it was that much louder than the chipper.

pulling out was about 2000rpm max I tried to keep it as low as possible and just bump the clutch (no brakes) but it either wants to idle or go wide out.

Dude i was out with kir and stopped at my parents and saw the videos and i was like why hasnt he posted them so i wrote a quick post yours is much better...

And this is no where close to how loud this car is

Guys, please help me convince Adam to rip out his stock modified pan when we have to lift the motor anyway tomorrow to get the mount out and fix it again = free. Get the used stock oil pump out of the attic = free. And if his motor is an older block that does not have a dipstick in the block to just put 5qts in the car and forget it = free. I would imagine it is a older block considering all the running the motor did and there were no giant clouds of oil spray anywhere.

Obviously our first welding job back when we were both extremely bad at welding in the cold at night under the car in a rush wasn't that bad considering we spotted the bottom of the oil pan as moist last week and there is still not a drop yet on the floor this week. It probably just needs some touch up. We'd also be MIG this time instead of ARC and I have a ton of 1/8" mild steel plate sitting around which would be much easier to weld than the 22 we used last time.

HA nope we can't take credit for the tree. Those neighbors are DICKS. Glad I don't live at this location anymore for a lot of reasons, one of them is those people. Took out their rain gutter, part of their porch railing, and they still have that giant overturned stump in their yard and the damaged fence (their fence) to deal with. Too bad it didn't go through their roof and cause some real cash.

In the past they've complained and actually called the cops that I'm using an angle grinder, etc. in the driveway. I am directly across from an elementary school and I only work from 9AM to dusk unless I am inside with the doors closed doing quiet things like electrical diagnosis. On a number of occasions I have jump started teachers at late hours and parents across the street stuck waiting for AAA, changed flats to spares, plugged tires, and once diagnosed and fixed a crank no-start on the principal's Honda Accord (out there at 9PM with him and a flashlight running to Autozone to get tuneup stuff, ended up being a bad rotor). Helped a few of the local cops out too, so when these people called me in they'd basically tell them to STFU he's a nice guy and only works during the day, all those cars in the driveway he has titles for except one (Adam's) it's not like I'm running a chop shop at 10PM.

The cutter guys came up to us yesterday morning to ask if they could use my driveway to get their chipper closer and walk the cut branches across my back yard (moving a considerable amount of car stuff). I was seriously considering saying no or telling them I wanted money because of how stupid ass these neighbors are. I was even thinking of calling the cops to complain how loud their chipper was and chainsaws were, but I wasn't raised to be dicks like them. Princeton people...Prius drivers...you get the image. They used to be die-hard SAAB owners....................

+1. This is the way to go. Save the money for elsewhere. Something to note about aftermarket oil pans. The stock dip stick goes in the block. If you have an aftermarket oil pan, you need to plug that hold in the block.

Gonna need a usb serial adapter rs-232 ($12 online) to hook wb to laptop, or you can hook it up to the egr if you dont have one, but I think direct to laptop is better, check to see what version Qh you have I had the 1.4v it had some bugs sent it back to moates they updated to 1.6v for free.

Drilled the hole for the pilot larger this morning.
Monday010-3.jpg

Then got out the destructor. 2.75" hole saw with the posi-lock fanciness.
Monday011-2.jpg

I'm drilling this because Adam's too much of a :taco:, and then I'm standing there looking at this thing thinking "Bad News Bear..." Kind of like when the bay doors open at 13,500 feet and you're standing on the lip with 120 knot winds blasting you in the face and, with the exception of the wing, infinitely wide open space in front, above, and below - it's better not to stand there and ponder why you're jumping out of a perfectly good airplane and just jump before your mind starts playing games.
Monday012-3.jpg

Not perfect, but pretty damn good.
Monday013-2.jpg

Monday014-3.jpg

Monday015-3.jpg

It still has to be opened up pretty significantly, but that will be done slowly, by hand. The hole ended up being about 2 7/8. I guess the width of the blade and its movement accounts for that. The two slight mars will be more than covered by the extra diameter and/or necessary weatherstrip.
