Pictures of the Damage

Stop light was green, the guy in front of me was turning left so he had to stop before making the left turn. Obviously I stopped behind him and then the girl behind me didn't look and ran right into the back of me.

Yet another accident caused by a female, how surprising......

I feel your pain man, I really do. This happened to my 04 about a month ago http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/819943-least-wasnt-my-68-a.html. I didn't realize how much I liked that car until that happened. I never did post it in this forum because I just couldn't bring myself to do it. On a good note the whole deal ended up re-igniting my love affair with my 68. I've been driving the hell out of it this summer. I haven't driven it this much since it was my daily driver.

You can always buy it back and fix it, that's what I ended up doing, even though I really probably should just get another.

That just really sucks man. I'm sorry.

Hey dude, I feel your pain. If you're interested, you can have all of the old body parts coming off of my car because I'm switching to 03/04 cobra panels. I have a front bumper, rear bumper, trunk lid and spoiler, and GT hood with scoop, I even have the GT side skirts. They're even already red. I could sell them, but I'd rather see you get your baby back on the road. PM me if interested. :nice:

Dude you were willing to give your stang parts away just to get a fellow stang owner back on the rode RESPECT MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:nice::nice::nice:

Unfortunately there was to much damage and insurance is totaling the car. I asked how much to buy back the car and they said 2-3k. I said no thanks. I faxed all the receipts I had from my mods and I'm waiting to here back. As of right now they are giving me over 9k for the car. If they account for the mods I hope they will give me over 10k. I found a used 1997 Cobra for $9,000 very clean with only 43k on it. I might look into that and see If they would take $7,500 then use maybe 2k for mods. My girlfriend keeps pushing me to get a 2011 and use the 10k as a down payment.

At least drive a 2011 if you can live with the payment and insurance.

I drove a 2010 GT last year and loved everything about the car. The thing is I can't get a GT to much money. I could go with a v6 and performance package. I have seen some test that the new v6s are gaining 25-27rwhp and 20rwtq with a 93 OCT tune. Not bad for a v6 that would put them around 285rwhp with just a tune. That would be only 8rwhp off my old GT. Granted the tq would not be the same.

2-3k to buy it back? no way man you should get it back for around 1500 at the most. but the new 2011 v-6s pack around 305hp from what ive heard. but i would buy it back and find another new edge for a few thousand bucks swap all your good stuff over and and and oh s/c the hell out of it. you find 99-02GTs from 3-5k bucks. but thats just me tho

I say buy it back. You could have ~$8k to play with. I'd find a nice foxbody and swap in your drivetrain, interior and whatever else you can swap over. There is a local Mustang shop/club here in Tulsa that specializes in modular swapped coupes. They have put out some pretty clean cars!
The soul of your GT would live on, lol!

I would get the cobra rather then the V6. No real reason other then personal preference. Sorry about the car.
