If you want to spend $45k and can wait, I would hold out for the Boss 302 next year. What would your reason be for spending the extra money on the 427R, looks or performance? For performance bang for your buck, the 427R is not worth the extra money over the 5.0. You can get 435 hp out of a 5.0 very easily (might actually be around there stock, 412 seems to be underrated.)

Ford's website would be the place to look for color combinations.

$45k?

Try to buy a new GT500.. (might have to wait to get one for that price - I don't know if dealers are marking them up).

Or, an '11 GT with a supercharger and other mods - but don't plan on the car ever being worth much more than what regular GTs sell for (you won't get a return on investment when it comes to mods).

And finally - yes, the Boss! I really like them - sat in one and watched one on (according the guys here) a 'faux' dyno at the LA auto show.

Roush? Or Saleen? No. I just don't care for them. Too gaudy and ostentatious. That's my personal opinion so I don't intend to offend anyone. :)

I'd get a Boss 302 or a 5.0. Nothing against, Roush, I love the company and I'm going to be getting the Stage 1 kit eventually. But the 427 makes 435 HP, which is barely more than a 5.0, and less than a Boss. It already has a S/C on it, along with other engine goodies I understand, so IDK how much more you can do power wise. For $45k you can get a base 5.0 then get the Roush 5XR kit installed. :nice:

you guys that have never drove a new 5.0 will be in for a big suprise, i about crapped when i drove one a few months back, tonns of tq. even with the auto tranny, the 1 i drove had the auto, rolling from 20 to 60mph it just throws you in the seat, even at a 60mph full throttle it feels the same, as soon as my 86gt sells ill have a new one, iam 62 years old and have owned and drove lotts of the old muscle cars from the 602 and 70s and this new 5.0 will hold its own pretty good just stock, just go drive a new 1 like did, you will be supriced like i was.
