I've got some belt squealing going on under the hood. I've replaced both the idler and tensioner pulleys but the noise is still going on. I'm also going to replace the belt just in case. Someone mentioned the tensioner but I'm not sure if they were talking about just the pulley or the entire assembly so could the entire tensioner assembly be the root of the noise?

If the tensioner is not putting enough pre-load into the belt it could be the source of squeal.

You may simply have a glazed belt but you should also check all the accessory pulleys for free-rotation when the belt is off to make sure none require high-torque (indicating a bearing problem in the accessory...)

i had a glazed belt and tensioner pulley that squealed like a pig, but i only found it after changing everything else >.<

since you already changed every other pulley, it could be the belt itself or even the clutch pulley
