i realize this is your first supercharged car, however someone needs to slap you with reality. i'm on my first supercharged foxbody, you need to READ and have more knowledge of what is going on BEFORE you are where your at now.

running a blower car, with that small of injectors, no fmu, no tune, and boosting it PERIOD is stupid. let alone more then once, while feeling a miss or detonation. your lucky it hasnt blown up already dude.

you need a good tune. if the car is making 400whp, 42# injectors will support that. bigger injectors could cure the lean issue up top because they can keep up with the fuel demand. HOWEVER, you STILL need a tune.

a good 255 in-tank, ie; walbro gss-340 will support the power without an inline. 42# injectors will work for you also. just get the car tuned with the proper components. it isin't cheap, but it will cost alot more when your adding a new engine to the equation.

Thanks. Yes, I am getting the impression that I need 42# inj. at at the bare min.

Will I also need a new mass air meter calibrated for the 42s?

I will count myself lucky and not get into it again until I get a tune.

I bought the car just as it sits two years ago and have put about 500 miles on it. I am now at a point that I am able to make sure that it is tuned safe and right. Sometimes life gets in the way of that.

Thanks again for the input. I am looking for a credible tuner somewhat close to Dayton/Columbus, OH.

What do you think about the Mass Air Meter Calibration?

You would need a MAF calibrated for 42’s or a way to tune so the EEC knows what to do with them. I was told. “Contact Chris at PMAS 919-779-4153. Tell him you need a 05+ slotted MAF and flange and the solder in harness for a fox wiring harness”. That MAF requires you to have a tuner & has been proven to support up to 900hp to the wheels. The LMAF that I have now is supposed to top out around 400 hp to the wheels. Tuning isn’t that hard. I’m not an expert at it by no means. There is a learning curve to it. I like doing things myself. There is a ton of support on the EECtuner forum. You would want Binary Editor & EEC Analyzer (BE & EA). You might be able to find a TWEECER RT or other tuner on Ebay

Go with quarterhorse... Same thing... Less money.. Alot of support for it on eectuning.org.. The tweecer would work fine but more expensive.. There are only minor differences between the two.. Just do your research and get the one that's right for you..

Thanks, I appreciate the input. I will look into that. Sounds like 42s, MAF, and a tune are in order.

Thanks for the alternative. Money always seems to be tight.

i would get a dyno tune the first time around.

no offense, but anyone asking if they need a new maf with injectors, probably isint ready to take a car out and tune/datalog. you need to work into stuff just like anyone here did. i'd look at it as, you need to walk before you can run kinda scenario.

get the car tuned, ask questions, learn more about whats going on with your setup, then maybe progress into your own tuning components. you can get an sct 4-bank chip for $100ish used off the corral, then just pay for a dyno tune. no wiring or anything required, that is the most cut/dry way from this stage to get it tuned properly.

check around on the mustang forums. there are lots of 42# injector/maf combo's that go up for sale. save yourself some cash and find a reputable used seller for those.

good luck dude. my car is only making 440whp and its a blast. it's worth the $$ to do it right and enjoy it.

Thanks 281 for the input. I appreciate it. I am working on a few first steps with this post. I'll be watching the adds on here.

Like I said on the first page it cost me about 420$ for a tune, software and the qh.. If he buys a hundred dollar chip he Is gonna pay a couple hundred for someone to tune the car on a dyno.. I wasn't saying he should tune it himself.. I could give him the guys number that did mine and it would be 100 bucks for the tune..
