My first Ford car show is behind me. According to the event promoters This year @ Bowling Green had the highest participant total (over 300 registered in the auto show) and another 150-200 unregistered in the 13 year history of the thing.

I talked myself hoarse answering the same questions over and over about a bazillion times, #1 Who did the work? #2 How long did it take? and #3 Are you a Bodyman? I would literally get done telling one guy and another would walk up and ask the same questions. I didn't mind really, I had a great time.

I'd have to say, the car was a hit.

The Car won 1st place in the "editors choice" category for best modified Ford.

It also was covered by 5.0, when MM and FF finally called me at 5PM on Saturday, I had already committed to 5.0 thinking that MM and FF had changed their mind.

( I honestly believe MM & FF had blew me off, but after editor of the Promedia Mag "Race pages" let both 5.0 and MM&FF how many people were around the car,MM&FF had a "change of heart" at the last minute.)

Needless to say, MM&FF didn't want to take a back seat to 5.0 and refused to shoot it after they learned I had committed to another mag.

Editor at 5.0 told me it should show up in April's issue.

The car drove and handled great. We ran it about 70-75 MPH all the way up there, and it got close to 20MPG.

I did have an "almost disaster" when the castle nut on the ball joint almost came off as a result of me forgetting to put a cotter pin on that side ( It was rattling like hell when we got off in Nashville) Nut was still barely on when when I "discovered it"

But I got lucky, fixed it in the Walmart parking lot, and it ended up OK.

I'm Tired.:nice:

Congrats Mike, im sure you are stoked that the car is getting such a good reaction out of people. 1st in the whole show is no joke. I'd bet people are going to be calling you for those front ends soon

Thanks you guys. And it does feel good to get recognized after all of the frustrating hours I trudged out of that basement garage working on the thing.

I have already decided to do a ton of stuff to it before it will be at the next show, I better get busy doing what "Whores do best" if I'm gonna get enough money together to do it though.:D

Congrats. I hadn't been following your thread but with the attention you described in here I had to check it out. I definitely wasn't expecting to see what I saw, and really dig it. Awesome job!

I like the sounds of this. And congrats on the prizes!

I will be buying the April issue of 5.0 then. I try to tell other car people I work with about some of the project cars built on this site and they can't envision what I am talking about.

Congratulations on the feature and plaque too!!
