No one knows the difference between loyalty and ignorance. "ford in a ford, Chevy in a chevy" is fine and all but surely most "car guys" understand the envelope has been pushed long since the OHV 5.0L died off...

Man, it's been going on long, long before that. Before that, sbc's were used simply because they were stupid cheap to make gobs of power with. Everybody had parts for them half the cost of Fords, and all the Chevy fanboys ragged on pos Fords. Sure, the Chevys had the advantage. Still do. But what's really great is kicking hell out of them with a disadvantage, and then rubbing their nose in it.

That, my friend, is why I love my little SBF.:)

Oh don't get me wrong, Im a ford guy as much as anyone on the boards, I'm just willing to admit there are much better platforms. I'd take a 4v or another 408 over an LSx any day in a fox. But I'm also completely ok with guy's f you dealership. Btw, I'll take the viper fox

**** you factory ;)

I saw a 93 viper gor for 15k btw, i wish i had about 20k to blow right now, i could have any car i want.

The viper mustang has already been done. But I always thought I'd join my local corvette club someday and park some bastardized c5 in the middle of the pack. Send me a brochure when the **** you factory is up and running

I'm torn on this one probably because I've been around so long. 20 years ago I would have said there is absolutely no replacement for displacement. At that time I was a windsor nut. I ran a windsor and kicked the hell out of a lot of people with one. Fantastic set up, as Nik said, it's how the fox should have been.

The thing is though, nowdays, There's no reason to not use forced aspiration. I am in absolute awe of the folks who turbo a terminator and squeeze 1000hp out of them like it's nothing. If you told me in 1990 they'd be doing that with a factory stock rotating assembly and block I would have laughed at you.

I've got a windsor block on a stand right now that I wanted to put a chp 408 kit in, and now I'm second guessing it because the block is only good for 700hp, give or take.

I love windsors, but If you are going to really go big, you'd better buy a dart block to do it with, or you're going to wind up a lot of scrap metal.

Now, If you'll excuse me, I'm going back to waffle some more on what engine I'm going to use....

Boost is great, but I have a lot of respect for getting it done N/A. There is just way more thought and effort that goes into a 650 hp NA 408 than there is a 650 hp bewsted 347. Plus, there is just that much less that you have to wrench on with N/A.

Of course, hearing the supercharger whine or the turbo BOV makes me giggle like a school girl, so I guess either works. :D I'd love a big W, but I'm kind of thinking about doing a Dart block 363 in my car, just because I already have all the 8.2" junk and that way I could throw all the bewst at it that I want.

The magazines, and people always make it sound easy. The 03 cobra stuff will make dyno pulls at 1000 hp, but how long it will last is quesitonable. Dont get me wrong, its awesome what people are doing today, but 1000hp isnt easy by any means.

I loved my car when it had the charger on it, but to me personally, unless you are trying to go low 9's or 8's in the 1/4 mile, doing it NA is alot more fun. The past few weeks ive been thinking about how much i like my car NA. 3 summers, same motor, beating the bag out of it and changing parts here and there. Its been alot of fun, and the next motor i piece together is going to be 700hp, SB, NA, on pump gas.

I find it hard to vote between an LSx option or the stroked and poked 351 option.

ever since 5L5 started talking about the 3.5 nissan swap that sounds pretty bad ass too. If I had the money to start wrenching on the car right now I would work with what I have which means I would probably buy a cam and a gasket kit and use the 180cc iron heads under my bed and hope for 300 to the wheels.

In a perfect world I would probably do an LS swap.
