Running 11:1 compression on my 347 stroker and I just bought a cheap s-trim (couldn't resist). Anyway I'm going to take the car to get tuned and get a chip burned for it. I'm very scared about detonation. 93 octane is all that is available around here. My question is, can a meth kit save my motor? It's a stock block and it will be making over 500rwhp with just the blower. If I add meth will that make too much more power? Need some advice. Lastly if I do go meth injection is the Anderson meth kit decent? Price is very appealing

it can be done. I've run everything from A to T trims on high compression motors. Are you running alum or steel heads? Alum will let you run about 1lb more boost. You will have to either use race gas or go with a meth injection system like the AEM or Snow . What is critical is keeping the engine temps under control- cooling, air temp, fuel, and timing. A little 50 shot of nitrous will also help a little to cool the motor now and then. :nice:

I have a nitrous dry kit on the car all hooked up, but I know the block would split if I used that with the blower. I had under drive pulleys on the car and now I'm stuck trying to find a stock water pump pulley so I can be done with putting the kit on. The heads are AFR 205's. my buddy who knows the tuner has a lot of faith in him, so I'm taking his word for it the he can tune the car correctly.

That's all well and good... What's going to keep the block in 1 piece?

To the OP, you could have bumped the 8-day-old thread you made in 5.0 Talk instead of creating a new thread here if you were looking for more responses. Just a tip for you.

srtthis: magic and safety wire will hold the block together at the track. The safety wire will at least keep it from falling out of the engine bay after it splits down the lifter valley:eek:

Clean the S trim blower up until it' nice and shiny and sell it on eBay. Take the profits, if any, and bank them for the time when you need some other speed goodies or replacement parts. Otherwise prepare yourself to spend a lot of money on Snow's methanol/water injection and a tune and then a new block, crank, rods and pistons when the current block splits from too much HP. It's too easy to forget the limits and go crazy with the boost when you are racing at the track...:(
