For the last couple of weeks i have been having idle issues with my 97 GT.It idles fine then all of a sudden out of the blue either when i get to a light or get off the highway the car will idle at like 1700 rpm's.all i have to do is shut the car off wait a few seconds start it back up and everything is back to normal!I was leaning towards IAC or TPS but i figured i would try and get a little more input first!Thanks for any help!

- looked for vacuum leaks?
- replaced the PVC valve?
- Cleaned the MAF?
- Checked the throttle linkage for binding?
- Confirmed that both throttle return springs are in place?
- Attempted to adjust the idle yourself using the idle stop screw?

^^ do that. If all is well I'd say IAC. My car did the same thing and it was the IAC, but you'll want to be sure before you start throwing parts at it.
