I couldn't really find a good fox body thread about the Mishimoto radiator or electric fans so i figured when i got mine i would do a half-assed attempt on one so here it goes.
I bought the entire kit from 50resto, it came with radiator, fans, shroud, attachment hardware, hoses, clamps, and a relay. Since i bought the kit it also came with a coolant reservoir but thats on backorder. The reason i got this kit is because my radiator just wasn't cooling well enough with the new motor.

The box lol nothing exciting,

out with the old

Comparing the old with the new, the website says the radiator is a 2 core, its actually a 3 core. Apparently their 2 core design had fitment issues and leaking problems so the revamped it.

I did not have a fan shroud for my radiator which is another reason i bought an electric fan, i didn't see spending more money on a shroud, i had one borrowed from a buddy and it didn't help my cooling problems

So there are no directions in the box on how to install these fans so i had to do some web searching, i finally figured it out

I test fit everything together before i dropped it in the car.

Dropped right in, had absolutely no fitment issues, i had to custom fab some brackets because of my hood.

once again fit great

more of the same since i cleaned my droid camera it worked better

Overall, i am satisfied with the purchase of the kit, i didn't need all the hoses but it will be nice when i get a hole in one at 12pm and the stores are not open. Fitment was great and car runs a good 190* with a/c on and idling in traffic. I got the relays wired up to turn on with a/c and im trying to tune the fans to start at the correct time. Hope this helps someone who wonders about this product

That Sam Adams looks good, as well as the set up:nice: I looked at just the fans and shroud kit not the radiator but didnt know how they performed, thanks for the info bc i was leaning towards the proform but i like how that one looks. what was the cost for that kit?

The entire kit was 599 + shipping, but if u figure i didnt have a shroud or a coolant tank thats 160 right there, the relay is 50 fans are 199, radiator is 249, and i got all new hoses 100. it wasnt a bad deal, they seem to work great but i think noahs 40 day flood is happening right now so i cant drive it for a really long distance but through town with the A/C going it never got over 180* which was nice:nice:

edit: sam adams is always a good decision

I bought the same set-up for my 93 cobra...what coolant tank did you use? I figure I'll have to move my battery to the trunk, but have my MSDS ignition box right under my battery box. I'm looking for a coolant reservoir solution....no way the stock will fit with the two 12" fans and shroud. Also looking to keep my low coolant sensor. Any ideas?

I believe the Canton Tanks have provisions for the stock low coolant sensor.

Thanks for picking up our radiator and fan system! Retaining the stock coolant sensor is going to limit your options for coolant reservoir choices. Any aftermarket unit will need to fit with the stock cap. If you decide the sensor is not necessary, any universal reservoir should provide a slimmer package that can be mounted elsewhere in the engine bay.

Curious what cfm those fans are rated at and what fan controller you are using

The fans included with this shroud setup are our 12" performance slim fans. Each fan is rated at 1150 CFM of airflow.

Thanks

And for reference..... why I continue to recommend OEM fans. Specs are posted on the www.dccontrol.com website

I've run both fans in my cars. The Taurus fan fits better with Supercharged applications and requires less trimming.

  • Lincoln Mark VIII fan (93 to 98). Flows 4300 CFM at 33 amps. Flat out, this is the most powerful fan out there that will fit in our cars. The fan blade design is a major reason in addition to the motor.

  • Taurus 3.8L Fan (89 - 95). 3800 CFM at 30 amps.
