I would like to order a taillight harness for my 69 fastback. There are two available one for cars with the "safety convince group" and one with out. I am not sure what that is or if my car has it. Any thoughts?
Dont think i have ever heard of a safety convince group .All three of mine have the same harness for the rear .I had a 71 with a low fuel warning light that had a extra wire in the harness ,that would be about the only difference i can think of .
the sail lights are a single wire and i think they are a single strand wire on the pass side or driver side that plugs into the door light wire in the kick panel .Then at the roof pillar there is a short double wire that has a ground directly to the body and the other goes to the light with a double plug in connector .
Feb 6, 2008 - Economy harness. Notes: "Safety-Convenience Package" consists of automatic seat back releases, a trunk light, a parking brake indicator light ...
I believe the standard wire harness for the rear has the brake light ,turn signal ,fuel sender and trunk light but not the double connector for the fuel warning light .If your old tank sender has the single post then i would say it is the standard harness.I have seen the seat back release and that is a pretty rare option ,if yours doesnt have that then you have the standard harness.
Now the park brake light is a separate wire from the tail light harness ,it has a wire from the E brake pedal to a light beside the steering column .I know this because my Calypso Coral car has this but i don't believe mine has the seat release or the low fuel light .Mine does have the trunk light .
Hey it stopped raining . The sail panel wires do come from the tail light harness ,it is a black with blue wire .There is a pig tail that comes right out of the harness.
. There is a jumper wire that goes through the box section inside the rear window lower panel to the pass side ,there are a couple of short jumpers that connect the sail panel . these wires are black with a blue stripe as well .
