Noisy Interior?

Hey guys,
I hope you don't mind but I wanted to reach out and get some information & opinions regarding the noise level inside your rides.

We have developed a 4 layer sound deadening mat that takes about 30 seconds to install. Its pre cut & it just drops in. Place it over your carpet/mat in your trunk (there is not no adhesive) We designed and have been selling these for the Corvettes for years. It drop approx. 8 db's!
However we are looking to see if other makes and models have the same noise issues & could benefit from our mats. We would design it for the Mustangs.
I could not think of a better way to get solid info & opinions then to speak to the enthusiasts themselves.

Do you guys get a lot of tire & road noise? This applies especially to people in certain states like TX, FL, CA, where some roads make the tires roar.

Stock or after market exhaust to loud for long trips?

Since we want to make the mat pre shaped, I was wondering if the 15 & 16 share the same trunk shape as the 10, 11, 12,13,14...etc

I appreciate any help. Thank you for reading this!

Ed

While I like the idea of getting user input, I strongly dislike the part aski about whether certain years are interchangeable etc. As a perspective product designer er whatever you are, I feel like you need to have some skin in the game by doing your own research.

Sounds like an ad.
For a product that doesn't exist?
I love the sound of my aftermarket exhaust in my car
MBRP street exhaust
The mat allows the sweet exhaust note to come through. What it helps do is suppress and absorb unwanted noise like tire & road)

Thread was approved by the management :nice:
Thank you

...and your welcome to think that, however we feel what really matters is the 1 ½ years of R&D that went into the product itself. But that doesn’t give us a pass to skim on research for the next make and model. Even with all the information we gather we will still have to invest a ton of time effort, testing and money. But we have to be smart about it.... From 79-2016, with all the options, we found there are approx. 18 different variations. Just that little tid bit of info would have taken us mounts to figure out. So if speaking to a knowledgeable stang owner to obtain some information shaves off some time plus we get to engage with some cool enthusiasts…you can’t beat that with a stick.

2015 gt owner with MBRP street cat back.. Yes I would be interested in a sound deadening mat to cut down on the drone. I live in FL and road noise is a bit much also. I am not sure but I don't think pre 2015 and post 2015 mats would be interchangeable.

Great to hear from you. Yes FL is one of the states that has either concrete roads or something in the asphalt that makes the tires roar. We sell a ton there. However based on previous comments for the Stang, the , 15-16 were off limits because they were super quiet. I assumed a lot of insulation from the factory. So this is interesting..
Ok, it also seems like after market exhaust will play into it to.

As you might have noticed, we have been quiet for a bit. That's because we took all the info we have gathered and we are having some mats made for us to test. Once done and all is good, we will come back on, join as a supporting vendor, and sell to you guys direct if interested.

But we are still here so any other input or feed back you have regarding your year car, what your experiencing (road/tire, exhaust), if its an exhaust issue,is it stock or aftermarket...etc fire away!

Thank you!
