    Timing cover need advice ASAP

I need to fix my leaking timing cover tonight if at all possible, but it's too late to pull the harmonic balancer (and I don't have an impact gun here anyways); think I can get it off far enough without taking the balancer off? I'm just gonna use that "Right Stuff" gasket maker made by permatex...

    Question

Ah, so I lured you into my thread with my purposely vague title . . . So, I'm redoing my intake manifold (exploder, f'd it up the first time a few months back and been living with an oil leak ever since) and I've just discovered that I don't have RTV Black silicone; all I have is the red...

    Tranny problems

MMMM . . . vibrations, that's hard to say . . . I mean it's hard to tell, as it's very loud, and there's always been a bit of vibration, even before I converted the truck motor, and before I replaced the tranny; I never had any problems with my old tranny leaking though. This is getting...

    Tranny problems

Since you mention it . . . it had slipped my mind that I installed the "new" tranny with an Energy suspension mount; the mount came with a metal plate that I didn't install, as it appeared to have the same dimensions as the stock rubber mount without the plate. Perhaps this has thrown things...

    Tranny problems

Pretty simple install; I don't really see how I could've screwed anything up. The output shaft doesn't have much play as I recall.

    Tranny problems

My WC T5 (I bought it off the corral, supposedly it had been rebuilt) started leaking out of the output shaft seal about three weeks after install. I finally fixe it last week (after leaving it parked for several weeks) and it was leaking again within a day. Any ideas?

    T5 whining

What do you mean pre-load? BTW it certainly isn't low on fluid, I filled it up after putting in and it isn't leaking . . .

    T5 whining

I just installed a "rebuilt" T5 w/ a used Ram HD clutch and short shifter in my car that I bought from someone on the corral; I drove it today for the first time, and while I'm thrilled that I can actually shift now, it sounds like I have a damn supercharger in first and second gear. I took this...

    extremely bad gas milage?

Likely not the culprit but I think a non-functional EGR system hurts economy too.

    Clutch quadrant Pawl Removal

I'm having trouble getting the pawl out; am I supposed to release the spring first somehow? Also, it just doesn't look like there's any room to slide that sucker off . . . and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that my car was converted to a t5 from an auto . . . Anyone with a...

looking for 300 rwhp set up

Pretty close I think, GT40P heads would be better, new valve springs to go with the cam (but 300hp is possible with the stock cam, maybe more work though). Also get the 70mm MAF off of a 94-95 5.0, and try to find an explorer intake that comes with the throttle body (a little work but big...

    Strut removal

OK, I feel like an idiot for posting this, but does anyone have an easy method for removing the nut on top of the strut? I'm fairly sure it'd come right off with an impact gun, but I don't have one, so I bought a large crescent wrench and tried turning it while holding the bolt with a...

    T5 Rebuild quick ?'s

I have to admit that there are times when I absolutely hate working on my car, but the feeling you describe takes me all the way back to when I was about 6 or 7 years old, feeling all proud because my crappy huffy did better after I repacked the bearings in the wheels :) . . . I guess it makes...
