    Dyno Results

Just came back from SuperTune Performance with dyno sheet in hand. Turns out my MAF is actually an 80mm from a 1996-200x 4.6. Numbers came back with a peak HP of 230.52 (4825rpm) and torque of 282.84 ft-lbs (3300rpm). I think I see a nice set of aluminum heads and cam in the near future...

    Dyno session this Saturday

I just found out that I have a shop literally 3 miles from my house with a Dynojet 248c. Since the majority of the work on my car was done by the previous owner I thought it would be worth the $80 for 3 pulls with A/F ratios. I'm not expecting any huge numbers, it's more to just get a baseline...

    Oil pan gasket leak

I'm in the process of installing a new clutch and was cleaning off the rear of the engine when I noticed the oil pan gasket leaking. I'll be changing out the rear mail seal as part of the clutch install, but is the oil pan gasket something I need to fix as well or is it fine as it is? Losing a...

    Problem removing bellhousing

For some reason I can't get the bellhousing off the engine block. It's a 1993 5.0 with a T5. All the bolts are removed, front and back of the bellhousing. Chilton's says there are two dowels on each side of the bell housing, that's all that's left. I've marked the dowels in red on the photos...

    Entire exhaust system welded

What are my options? I need to replace the clutch on the coupe I recently purchased but the entire exhaust system is welded together. And I mean everything. BBK LT headers are welded to the catted H-pipe, extension between the H-pipe and Flowmaster mufflers are welded, the pieces over the...

Arrrghh, another issue with clutch install

So I get the car up on jack stands last night so I can install my new clutch and had to stop after about 10 minutes. It turns out the steel tubing for the smog pump running from the cats up into the engine bay is welded so it forms a single tube. That raises two problems: (1) I don’t have the...

    347 Stroker, sound reasonable?

I'm trying to decide on project so I can put together a budget and start saving. This sounds pretty close to the performance I'm looking for and was curious as to everyone's opinions on whether what this guy said was reasonable. He's banned so I'd like to hear other peoples thoughts. 347...

Clutch install with long tube headers

Long story short, I just bought a 1993 LX 5.0 SSP last weekend knowing it needed its clutch replaced. I also knew it had BBK LT headers. I did not know it is a PITA it is to drop the T5 with LT headers in the way. Changing the clutch out isn't a problem, I'm comfortable with that project and...
