know for stock heads and intake it is said that the gt40 and gt40p is the way to go. If that is true then why does 98 ford explorer with gt40p only make 215hp, while stock mustang gt makes 225hp. Is it ecu?? timing??

My car has a O.D. in it, I have read that they suck alot of power from the motor. Is it worth keeping the auto and doing upgrades?? Should I swap in a t5?? It is going to be a street car and weekend drag car but not a DD.
