    2000 V6 Question?

My Check Engine Light has been on for at least 4 years now and only because of that code. The research that I did said that it should cost about 300 to fix it or so and the part may bad in the future again. It's used in the emissions control and I have lived with out it just fine. MN does not...

    Bolt-On Gains

The maufacturers or retailers of bolt ons will over state what the gains are. I generally assume its about 70-80% of what they say it can do. I have done the exhaust and underdrive pulley my self. It's still a V6 auto, so I don't expect much (specially with the heavy 00 Cobra R wheels I have) in...

Question about rotor heat 2000 3.8

It's pretty normal. Heavy cars, even with what would be thought as limited brake use, will create a lot of heat on the rotors.

    Cat-back options

I am not familar with the one listed on ebay, but the MAC kit is a good kit. My first exhaust was much like this one, only difference was it had 2 1/4" pipes I believe. For ease of install and cost of system, it's a great system. It gives a nice tone without creating too much unwanted attention...

    Amp trouble

Ever since late last summer, my amp quick working on me. I thought it was a wiring issue but I tested it last nigh and there it power going in. The power light is no longer on when the sound system comes on. I also tested to see if audio could be coming out and it tested positive for that. I...

    V6 - V8

Do a search on here, there have been so many threads and posts on this issue. Just so you know, its probably more work than you want to do. You have to switch out everything from motor, trans, rear end, and many things you probably haven't thought of.

Forced induction and cold air intake

I saw no change with my amp/sub combo. It is really too small to make too much of a difference. Typically from what I have seen, you need a 500-600 watt amp before you notice any adverse effects.

    Potential Owner, a few questions

I have a good list of mods, and my mileage is low, I know that. I have a lot of things working against me, large, heavy 18" wheels, O/R x-pipe, etc... The Cobras usually see pretty good mileage because of 4 valves per cylinder. Really, from the factory the 99-04 body style cars all have about...

Forced induction and cold air intake

How big is your amp(s)? A UD pulley really does not effect a mild stereo system. I only have a 350 Watt amp, and I can't even tell any difference at all. I have done a fair number of mods, and a pulley is one of the better ones. However, don't expect the huge hp gain that most companies claim...

    Potential Owner, a few questions

Yeah, that is about average retail for a car like that. I would try and talk him down though. I wouldn't pay $8k for an 8-9 year old car, even though miles are somewhat low. I have not heard of many problems with them leaking. My dad drives an 01 Cobra vert and takes it through high pressure car...

    installing headlights

headlights are about the simplest thing to change. Again it depends on the year of your car, but on the 99-04 there are only two pins that hold each headlamp assembly in. I believe its almost as simple for the 94-98. I hope you got the 2 cylinder add on kit with those GT Cobra lamps!

Stang315, here's some useful information for you. I currently have 18x9's on my car, they are about twice the weight of the 15's that came on it. Should be really easy to install. Under the hood there should be a pin or screw or something that holds it into place.
