00 GT Noise?

I have an '00 GT and for about 1000 miles its been making a ticking noise at idle, and you can hear it when you are accelerating slowly. Sometimes the noise isnt there but it comes back. When the hood is open it sounds like the noise is coming from down low on the passenger side, but its hard to tell due to sound of the engine. This noise is very irritating and I want to fix it. Do any of you have this problem and/or how do you fix it?

thats interesting I have the same noise to, my buddies step-dad works at ford and I let him listen to it and he said its normal, his truck does it to.

Well, how loud is it? I had a ticking sound that whenever the RPM's went up, it became louder, and I found out my belt was really worn.

hmmm yeah you could check the belt, that's pretty weird though. I'm guessing your ignition timing is stock and everything. sometimes if the down pipe from the header isnt secured, or if the gasket is bad on the passenger's side it can sound like ticking of the air escaping? dunno though.
