He did not hit the tree at 65 MPH. It would have been worse for the car and him.

Glad your friend and the girl is alright!

In my town the speeds differ all over the place, I personally feel if he was speeding it is all his fault. . . . . ..... ...... .......Period. Thats why I watch the speed limit sign's very well where I live, If not I will hit a deer. Thats because there are tons of deer where I live.:notnice: Judging by the pic he was DEFFINATLY in a residential area

I agree. Either way 65 in a 55 is speeding:notnice: Especially in a residential area

I absolutely LOVE how so many of you can tell exactly what happened by one lousy picture. I live in a very wooded residential area and if you go to the end of my street guess what there is...A STORAGE FACILITY followed by several very nice homes. You do not live in the area nor have you ever even passed through it, so there happen to be some homes in the background of a picture, whoopee!! You are completely ignorant to the area and situation. That may not even be the road he was driving on, it could be one parallel or adjacent to it. You simply do not know.

Was he speeding? Yes. Should he be crucified for that? Hell no. We all do it, even where we aren't supposed to. Whether its 1, 5 or 10 over its completely subjective to the situation. I am not condoning it, but spare me the nonsense. If the speed limit of the road is 55, do you really think the scenario would have been all that different had he been going the limit? Doubtful. If he was going 70 or over then all bets are off, that is a bit excessive, but there is still the fact that there is absolutely no reason why a little girl should ever step out into any road, especially unsupervised.

Let's all put away our detective kits and just be thankful that no one was seriously hurt or killed.

    hence these posts....

posting something on the internet and expecting everyone to know exactly what you know about the area is just silly. dont expect everyone to simply agree with the limited facts provided, without further explanation. fact is that only person here that knows the area is ryan, and that is why he was asked for more info.

still not trying to argue if it is an industrial area or not. ryan has said it is, and does not have any other pics to help me visualize the situation. end of case as far as i am concerned. you cannot continue either case without more information provided.

in the end, it does not really matter. nobody was seriously hurt, and that is the best outcome in this situation. good thing S197s have a 5 star safety rating. :)
