1/4 window swap.

OK. I can get a set of 1/4 windows and moldings from an '86. I have always liked them better than the aerofox 1/4's with their rubber dry rot crap. I have been seeing a lot of these swaps back to the older 1/4's in magazines but, no info. Is it a direct swap? If anyone has an article or how to pics or info....I'd greatly appreciate it.

on older foxes the quarter windows is glues in with some sort of RTV and a bracket is screwed in to the inside of the frame to hole the window. In the 87 and up that place for the support frame is missing. You could do it however if someone pushed onthe window hard enough it would push in, Also there is the outside frame you would have to get off the 79-86 car but that it not a big deal to installed.

You may have to trim your interior panels so the window will fit. I know when you "update" the windows on a 4 eye car it leaves a large gap between the window & panel, so I would think that going the other way would cause the opposite to happen.

Thanks. I might just get the parts and give it a shot. If it don't work then I'll put the origional ones in again. He only wants $60.00 for everything. My family will spend that at Taco Bell...lol

yeah, but by the time you factor in all the TP and pepto-bismol, that price nearly doubles!!!!
