LINKS FIXED.
I dont post very often but I lurk! I hope this is the right place to post this.. I spend all my lurking time here in the 5.0 section, lol.
Yesterday a very long project came to an end. For the last 8-ish months in my off time Ive been building a car for a friend of mine that I saw for the first time on HybridZ.org, showed him, and he simply fell in love with.. Its a B6T powered Ford Festiva. A member there had one built that was putting down 12.6's.. So impressive we ended up embarking on the same path.
It was a pain in my ass. A very big one, but its done. Well, no project is ever REALLy done, but its on the road, driveable and just plain stupid fast. We still have some work to do as far as getting it dialed in, mid 12's we aint, yet, but we're close from the general feel of the car and violence with which it accelerates. Figured I'd toss up a few pics and videos for anyone interested, this is the scariest and most fun little car..
In one of the videos Bryan (the owner) is following me in a white Mustang you see in one of the pics. That was my first time in the car, first time launching the car and I had my Girlfriend along to try and scare her to death, which I did.. but anyway, that 'Stang goes a consistent 13.7-8 with Bob (its owner) driving. Has basic bolt-ons, .30 over, solid exhuast, good all around, stout car. I spun clean through second and didnt catch any kind of pavement until I hit third and you can watch me walk away from him, not knowing this car from Adam practically. Bob's launch in first wasnt that great but it was decent and from there he was fine.. The car is very very fast, just need to get used to it, put a damn strut car up front and learn to launch it. Of course a proper launch in 13degree weather aint gonna happen, but my point stands, haha. Gonna try to line up a heads up race against that stang, the Festy and an 300whp LT1 Trans-Am.
Our little Festy only makes about 220hp @ 16psi, maybe 200ft pds of torque or so, but with DRIVER AND GAS our weight figures put it right around 1900pds, maybe a tad less, so it feels and sounds purely like a go-cart.
Looks like a lego, sounds like a lawn-mower, rolls like a Vette!

This pic of the engine is older and shows it mostly done, but its prior to the car running and a few things have changed. I forgot to get the new pics off my buddies camera today.. Gives you an idea atleast.
