16 Gal. Tank?

Ok, had my car for about 2 weeks now. On my second tank of gas. I'm getting around 20 MPG on this second tank according to the dash. The dash also says I've used 12.7 gallons, and that I have about 47 miles to E. Doing the math, that's about a total of 15 gallons, not 16? Is it considered E when there is only one gallon left? Shouldn't it be about 67 miles to E if it had 16 gallons? And I'm sure the tank was full.

people like to run it empty. if they tell you you have 0.5 miles left, you would try to go 1.0 miles. it is better to have a reserve, then not enough.

Did Ford not fix the gas tank problem for '06? The pump clicked off after half a tank today. It also fills it up too much and spills out a little when it's done.

One thing I've learnt bout fuel pumps in the tanks, is ya better not keep runnin on 2 or 5 dollars at a time cause they pump all the time and when the tank is low it'll suck air and the dirt in the bottom stays stirred up.
I recently paid 700+ to ford for a fuel pump change on my daughters car and Chevy wants 900+ for my truck.
