I was wondering if I would have to modify anything to run a 17x9 wheel front and a 17x10.5" wheel in the rear? How much extra weight would I be adding as this would be something to keep me from doing this. I was looking at a set of replica cobra R rims in gunmetal on ebay and I thought they might look good on my car. $790 + 160 shipping. (comes with tires mounted but not balanced). Any thoughts? A few things that you might need to know, I have some suspension work via KB and the car is lowered I think with Steeda springs. Thanks.
for the 10.5" in the rear, i just had to "adjust" my tailpipes... i cut them mounted the wheels, then welded the tips back on enough to clear. probably about 1/2" inward at the MOST. but thats with a solid rear. a friend put them on his IRS car and they fit without any modifications. the 9" should fit in front without a problem.
I'm not sure with your independent rear, but on my 97 I put 17X11's on the rear. I had to remove the quadra shocks, and put a panard rod kit on to stabalize the rear axle and keep it from shifting in corners. I also added new control arms. They weren't necessary though.
I thought about a 17 x 10.5 rear for my '01. Was told there was a bolt that needed to be replaced/smoothed to avoid clearance problems. 17 x 9 will be fine up front.
hi, im in the same situation kinda. ive got a 90' lx and i want to get bullits 17x8 or 9 up front and 17x10.5 in the rear. besides the 5 lug convo., would they fit or what would i need to do to make them fit?
For the IRS Cobras with 17x10.5s a spacer is needed to clear that bolt mcnaz is talking about. 1/4, or 1/2 I'm not sure, there's mixed reviews about this, but I would think 1/4 is enough.
