I like the new retro look of the 05 mustang but What Ive heard about the 2006 svt mustang well look similar like the 2003 concept . :nice: But now I hear Carroll Shelby will make a mustang with ford in late 2006 or mid 07. :nice: . I live svt models and parts but if theres going to be a Shelby model well I think that will be the grandfather of all mustangs no doubt. If any one knows more info on the upcoming svt mustang or Shelby mustang please post. Can't even imagne what kind of engine caroll will but in his mustang ? :hail2: .

Actually I heard that it will be a big block DOHC 40V V10 that will crank out more ponies than king kong on steroids haha.

Are you serious about the V-10 ??? And which model shelby or svt.

Also what I hear and see on the model (SVT) Shelby Vechile Team if you noticed the hood on the 2003 concept mustang it looks exactly as a 68-69 shelby mustang hood . And for all the people tracking this info ford did say that the 06 svt verison will look as close as the concept. But that my thought and guess about "(SVT) Shelby Vechile Team" but it would be great if the shelby verison was the same as the 03 concept just with diffrent rims like the ones off the old shelby cobras and a option of stripes and 427 side oiler engine option :hail2: :nice: for those who don't care about fuel economy like me.

I remember an artist's rendering of a GT-500 '05, from an old copy of Motor Trend... looked pretty close to stock, a lot like the old GT-350 R models. It was white with blue LeMans stripes, a 65-66 style hood, and side exhaust, but it didn't show engine or interior pics... it might be up on the Motor Trend site, I dunno.

They'll never put a V10 into a mustang, let alone an affordable cobra, there wont be the same demand for a Cobra that costs 75k..

One of the main reasons why I got my new car was the fact of the possible future. After I signed the paperwork for it, the salesman told me that SVT is working on a 500hp 5.4 4valve car. The sad part is the questionable cost ie: $45K to get in.

    Are you sure about that?

I seem to remember a V-10 Mustang in the not-to-distant past.

something about a Boss 351

a 351 is a v8 dude..yea well the 06 cobra has like 600 horses with a v10...its all over the place dude,,its fact not speculation, look up a 06 cobra on google... as for the shelbly, the car looks sweet (pics are floatin around with carroll standin next to it, not fakes) but do you honestly think a Legend like Shelby will let ford's cobra out do him? dont think so unless he's gotten soft. i expect at least 700 horses outta that shelby with a pretty hefty price tag. That is sure enough to run with a viper's power and price..now ford will bring back the american muscle supercar :p

You seemed to have missed the 351 CID V10 Mustang prototype. That engine was the predecessor to the 390 CID V10 in the Cobra roadster show car. There was a VERY long discussion about it here on StangNet and articles on it appeared in several magazines like Motor Trend, MM&FFs, etc.

oh well a 351 isnt my kind of v10 ya know? i think of a v10 as a monster, like maybe a 7 litre or more.. somethign to compete with a viper/skyline for you ricers/ and keep up with the classics

The V10 comes with the Shelby Cobra concept (which is a working concept car) but the engine was fitted into a Mach1 before finding it's new home. Saw this on TLC on "Rides". Was an hour show about the Cobra.

First off, there's no 2006 Cobra. One will likely be released in 2006 as a 2007 model in similar fashion to when the 2003 Cobras were released in 2002.

Secondly, it will not have anywhere close to 600 hp and (at least in the near future) never have a V10. Maybe the Shelby Cobra, but not the SVT Mustang Cobra. Expect output from the next SVT Cobra to be between 400 and 500 hp. If we're lucky it will get the blown 5.4L, but that's yet to be seen.

When it comes to the Shelby's, well, it's mostly speculation. The only cold hard fact I've come across is that there will be Shelby Mustangs made again, starting at the earliest as 2006 models.
