has anyone ever taken a stock 28 spline track lock diff pulled all the guts out of it and rebuilt it with 31 spline 8.8 guts to go to 31 spline axles with out pulling the gears...

basicly my end goal would be to put this>>>> Powertrax 92-0688-3127

into my stock 28 spline diff. i could get this for a 28 spline and be done with it BUT i have a feeling 28's just wont take what i know im gunna throw at it.

and yes i know i should just spool the car now.

I don't blame you for not wanting to use a spool (if it's a street car).

Why not use an eaton Posi unit?
Costs less than that unit, comes in 31 spline, and is rebuildable.

only reason im not going to a spool now is i plan to go with a 9 inch down the road. save some money now... do it right later


as for that unit... wouldnt be that exact one just that type of unit.

but i just got an answer from a buddy of mine that the said that the 31 spline case is larger then the 28 so no it wont work
