2v heads to 3v heads on 4.6

Is it possible to swap heads from 05 gt engine to 99+ 4.6L of course with ecu and harness and intake! And how much do u think the project would cost!

It may be a little early to tell, but there are so many changes to the '05 block that I wouldn't be suprised if it would be cheaper to jusy buy a 3v engine. Kind of like the 2v to 4v swap, it's more than just bolting new heads on

The variable valve timing could complicate matters too. What is Ford's name for that anyway?

I would think it would be the same deal, but there is a guy on Modular Depot that has been running a 5.4L with 3V truck heads for a little while. I'm not sure what all was involved. I tried to find the thread again, but didn't have any luck.

i think ford calls it VCT, Variable Cam Timing. its a little too early to tell on a final cost i believe. i wonder if anyone has gotten any aussie 3v heads to swap on yet.

you will also need to replace the cams since you will be opening 3 valves instead of 2

I think it would be cheaper to just get a good P&P and some agressive high lift cams.

not cost feasable. you would be better off to wait and buy a complete engine out of a wrecked car and then sell you engine.

whould be harder than a 4v swap and make no more power.
