Drive one that's just a few years old and you'll think yours is quiet.

Not especially loud but it's a V8 muscle car so it's not going to be sylph-like and inconspicuous. Big power needs big components and gears to contain it. Certainly, you'll hear the gearbox, you'll hear the engine and anything else is a bonus.

you think yours is noisy? I have an off-road x pipe, saleen exhaust and race lower control arms, the thing roars loud as hell and if the road is bumpy my lower control arms let me know(they dont have ANY bushings, just bearings haha) and i LOVE it. Now i need some blower whine to add to the music.

It's a V8 Ford, not a Honda, what did you expect it to sound like? Mine is noisy as hell, so I just turn up the radio :nice:

Hey Maxima! You are too used to the VQ series motors. I have a '05 Maxima that when it idles you can't tell its running. As for the Ford? Haha mine sounds as if it is going to lose a rod, I am going to find out real soon if it does when I add my blower.

Seriously, Fords, shake, rattle and hum. But they offer you so much in return it's forgivable.

I tried out a 350z for 3 years....I am now back to Mustangs. (which had a noisy as hell 6spd by the way)

No... the new body style is very quite.

My 03 Cobra... noisey and uncomfortable (knee hit the dash, killer clutch).

My fox body GT and LX... teeth can be lost due to their shaking... not saying thats a bad thing.

Previous cars I've onwned... well, the T-birds were quiter... but my 95 and 96 Z28 were refined, but not as close as the S197. My 89 and 90 Firebirds squeeked everywhere... while my 79 Z28 was balls to the walls over the top old school. I had that when I was 19, still can't hear that well over a decade later.

Of course it's noisy. It's not a Mercedes Benz, it's a V8 powered, blood and guts muscle car, at least as cars go today.

Now if you have a vibration, that's a different issue. It should not have any vibrations. The vast majority of vibrations are tire related.

    Noise?

I must have got very lucky in my GT. The only noise comes from the exhuast, and then only when I gas it. It just sounds sweet! No rattles, no squeaks, no wind noise. But I did have the same vibration at 65-70 as was mentioned.

I took my 07 GT to my dealer, and made the Shop Forman drive the car with me beside him. I never rode in the right seat before, or since but you cant see the speedo and tach numbers from over there. But when he was driving, I felt the vibes, and told him "were doing 70 mph right"? He nodded, and said he felt it too.

When we got back, he checked with Ford, and there was no TSB but some other kind of mention of this problem. Enough to warrant a new super balanced "supposedly" drive shaft. It only took three days for the shaft to arrive, and 15 minutes to have them install it. I say, go for a new shaft its free for the asking.

I think it is noisy. The car has no squeaks or rattles, and the noise does not seem to be from the wind. On some surfaces, I think there is quite a bit of tire noise. On other surfaces, I think the noise is from lack of much insulation.

If you want to go fast at a cheap price, this is what you get.
