306ci Horsepower

Hey guys, I havent posted in a long while. I have the chance to pick up a 91 LX 5.0 5-speed. She has a few miles on her so i was thinking of having the motor rebuilt to a 306 with forged pistons. Now im curious how much power is capable with a 306 and the Eldebrock Performer package heads and matching intake? I will have comp cams grind a cam that is suitable for this package. Bottom line is can i make 375 HP with a 306 and Edelbrock performer parts plus exhaust and other bolt ons?

i highly doubt it, i made 280 rwhp and 318 rwtq with a 306 e cam tfs twisted wedge heads and a cobra intake with all the usual other mods, that kinda power your gonna need a blower or a bump in cubes i e a stroker

Yeah, you won't see much more than 300rwhp.

What about the AFR 165's. Will those heads be worth 20rwhp over the Edelbrock heads? I just want the best bang for the buck with a 306 N/A.
