31 Spline Trac Lock - OK from Explorer?

When upgrading to a 31 spline rear end setup, it is OK to use the trac lock/diff from a Ford Explorer? They seem to be much cheaper than aftermarket ones, but do you lose something there? This would be a for a slightly modded/a few-runs-a month-at-the-track car. The car will probably only see 12s at the best during its life with me.

Also do these 31 spline trac locks (Explorer or aftermarket) work with the factory ABS on the car? -Thanks!

They will work, 8.8's a 8.8.

The ABS has nothing to do with the diff, the ABS sensors are on the shaft ends.

will work great, make sure it's low mileage, or go ahead and rebuild it if you get one cheap.
