just in case you need it:
hit repy (or edit your post).
in the reply window, scroll down to the "Manage Attatchments" button: press it.
This should open a new window titled "Manage Attatchments".
In this window click the "Browse" button.
This should open a "Choose File" dialog box.
Navigate to the image you want to post (you have to do one at a time) and click once on it.
Click the "Open" button.
This should close the "Choose File" dialog box and you should now be back in the "Manage Attachments" window.
There should now be some wordage in the box to the left of the "Browse" button, probably something like "C:\Documents and blah blah bla".
Now press the "Upload" button (located to the right of the "Browse" button).
Wait for the file to upload.
When done you should have a section at the bottom of the "Manage Attachments" window titled "Current Attachments", in this section should be a link to you image (which has now been uploaded the the sn servers), should say something like "engine.jpg (145kb)"
Now press the "Close Window" button.
Now, just above the "Manage Attachments" button there should be a link to your image "engine.jpg (145kb)", click it and copy its address from the "Address" bar in explorer.
Now past this in your post.

Cool.

Does that thing have cross bolted mains?

Not that I'm not greatfull, but would there be any chance of getting them bigger?

Yes the mains are cross bolted.

Go to the corral.net. Look for the 2005 Mustang photos. They have about 10 photos that cut apart engine in higher resolution (900 x 600).

Might as well post them:

That V8 looks a LOT like the block in the new GT(40) I'm talking about the deep skirts with cross bolted mains. Good news for anyone planning on adding a blower.

Bad news for anyone adding a blower: where do you put it? the engine bay pics don't seem to indicate a lot of room. Iv'e never done it myself so I don't know.

I have them a lot bigger, but I cannot post them much bigger than they are. If you give me your email I can send you a lot bigger ones.

The engine looks tall and heavy.
Mark

Heavy? The block & heads are aluminum, the intake is plastic. Ford has said it weights 70 lb less than the 04 GT engine. :nice: That would make it about 470 lbs which is pretty light. :nice: :nice:

I think the reason it looks tall is the upper intake. Instead of trying to make it low profile, ford probably looked at the room they had and used every mm of it.

This thing is definitely taller than an LS1. For all their shortcomings, ohv pushrod engines do have the advantage of being very compact for their displacement.

These sohc 3v heads look WAAAY smaller than the dohc 4v cobra/mach1 heads.
