Call me a nerd, but I actually did a project in school (Mech. Engineering) demonstrating the relationship between hp and torque and used a stock 5.0 dyno as a means to calculate the optimum shift points. I came up with 5525 in first, 5350 rpm in second, and 5080 from 3rd to 4th. That dyno was of a mustang with a K&N filter, and an aftermarket catback system. Can you be that precise? Of course not, but the numbers form a good baseline. And, I got some guys online, when I originally posted it in May2001 to back me up with real-world trials. Chris
Thanks for all the help, I just figured out I was launching wrong...instead of slipping the clutch I just dumped it and thats why it spun. Thanks again, ill get out and practice some more!
