My car hates me. I will save the long story and give you what I know....

1/ when I turn the A/C on (always on MAX) the car idles all over the place and surges up and down. When it surges up the A/C kicks on and pressure drops to around 25.... when the idle starts to come down the A/C compressor kicks off and the pressure goes up to 40-45.

2/ when I disconnect the A/C cycle swith and use a paper clip as a jumper, the A/C blows cold and idles at 1200rpm. When I rev the motor the triangular piece on the a/c clutch starts vibrating and making a horrible sound.

Is my compressor going out on me? I have replaced the cycle switch in the past, but I dont remember how I knew I had to replace it.

the A/c is supposed to cycle on and off it should kick on around 45-50 psi on the low side and kick off at 25 psi.. the rough idle sounds more like a tuning issue or driveablity problem.

as far as the paper clip thing you really are not suposed to do that to your a/c compressor you can cause many many issues doing that for long periods of time.
