I've ran a 13.9 with a 97 mph trap.... just gotta get a good launch and drive it like you stole it.

your E/Ts can improve, just focus on getting the 60' down.

Last time i went to the track my car was out of time and wasnt running as good.
all i could trap wa 95 mph and i ran alot and managed to get a 14.2 with 95 mph. with a 1.9 60'

Well we have a 351, we are gonna rebuild it and put something together for the spring. We're gonna build it to run boost, but run N/A for a little bit to get used to the power change. Hopefully by late spring early summer we will throw on a supercharger. I was thinking of just buying a few used bolt-ons- pulleys, electric fan, intake manifold, a mild cam- pretty much stuff that I can get most if not all my money back on with reselling. So basically what I'm getting to is I dont wanna invest too much money into the 302.

Well I think it would help a little bit. And from what I read in Mobs sig, we basically have the same combo cept the b-cam and 3.73's so hopefully I can get somewhere around his times. Plus he has a gt which is naturally heavier unless he did some weight reduction.

and youre running 3mph faster than me. I dont know your exact mods but my mph seems just a tad, tad bit, high for the et. Which has to be with the 60 I have cuz you have .2x on me so I feel I can gain a little more out of it.

I have a set of 10 holes. Do you think I could slap a pair on those? hopefully I can get some sort of improvement out of that. If I can cut a 2.0 I feel I can get pretty damn close to 13's, escpecially now that I put a half decent aftermarket tach in the ****, now I can see where im shifting. My brother said when he was driving down the track he was reading 6k and it was still pulling lol.

O BTW I forgot to mention that my trak lok is shot and im doing one wheel peels. I have a rebuild kit but I am thinking about getting a new posi like auburn or that torsen t2 ****.

Thanks guys keep the critisizm coming:)

I agree with grey5.0beast post. With stock heads, I would not waste money on a cam. Wait for a set of heads, then pick a cam.

Rebuild your diff, throw in some 3.73s or more, forget the DRs and put some 26x8.5 slicks on your ten holes and hold on.

If you are worried about breaking stuff, then maybe you should not be racing. :)

Were you on drag radials or what? I'd be a lot happier with a 14.2

:nice: Whatever breaks means it wasnt good enough and needs to be better.

I really should learn how to launch the ****, then get a set of 3.73's and slicks and see what happens.

Forget drag radials. Put some 26" slicks on your 10 holes. Stage at 5000rpms and drop the hammer. You will see 13s, and a much lower 60'.

The thing with drag radials is you still need to launch properly. They help a ton over street tires...but not nearly as much as slicks. Slicks take the skill out of launching...like I said, you dump the clutch at 5000rmps and away you go.
