I think i've only heard of one ever, and if i remember correctly it was a corporately owned notch.
Realistically, an AOD swap on a fox is very simple, do it, keep all the original parts.

.....Joe, there were quite a few fox body AOD saleens, just need to be patient and keep your eyes open. I saw one in the autotrader not more then six months ago. I do agree its not that difficult to convert it over......Scott aka s351animal just went AOD to 6 speed in his latest S351. I'm sure he'll be able to help you out if you decide to go that route!!!:nice:

    Right,

Robert has a good memory. It's probaably becuase he's 10 years older than most of us. OK, I'm speaking for myself.

That blue Saleen notch auto fox sold for something like 13k or something. That was a cool ride.

....10 years older then most of you?? I guess in your "younger" age, you're losing your memory faster then me :p

At one of the first JBA shows I attended in the late 80's (when they were still located on Dagget Street in Kearny Mesa), there was a Fox-body Saleen convertible that had an AOD transmission. If I remember correctly it was Cabernet Red with gold graphics, gold mesh wheels & tan interior.

At the time I was quite surprised that it was equipped with an automatic because not only had I never before seen one but I thought that Saleen only utilized T-5 equipped Mustangs for their conversions, unless it was a special order from an exclusive customer.

Yep, That Blue Saleen Notch AOD was on Ebay, while back..... its 89-002 , built for Saleen Autosports VP of marketing... had a repaint and 90K miles at the time...

I bid and came in second :( . I emailed couple weeks later to see if the sale went through , and it did...:nonono: I would have went higher, but it was right before i got my Saleen book so i was Gun shy a bit pulling the trigger on it....Sure enough i get the book , and there is a half page on it with a nice pic...

I think there are 30 Fox AOD's , non verts. Anyone know how accurate that is ?

Yea, yea, that's what I meant. I'm 10 years older than you. I guess I'm still depressed over Steve leaving, I mean getting fired from Saleen INC.

Even more depressing is that based on this math, I'm more than 10 years older than Marcus & thus 20+ years older than Robert.

    YIKES!!!

Friend of mine's mom has a black on black vert with silver graphics and vortech supercharged. AOD and only 13k miles I think. Pretty cool car. Believe its an 89 or 90. Cant remeber, its been a while.
