Anybody know Airbags?

After having the car down for far too long, it's been back on the road for about a week. So yesterday morning I fire it up to head to work, and the airbag light comes on as usual, goes out (again, as usual), I back out and start rolling and the light starts flickering on and off several times for a few seconds, then comes on and stays on all the way to work. Now it does this each time I drive the car. Anyone out there had this problem, or know why it's doing this, and more importantly, what I can do to remedy it without taking it to the thieves AKA my local Ford dealer?? Any help would be appreciated!

Could be a number of things, my guess is the air bag module (or "brain", under the console) is going tits up. Air bags are something I personally don't particularly mess around with, apparently if the air bag light is blinking, it is blinking you trouble codes. i would also say it is something with the module. When i got in my accident and the airbag deployed the light stayed on all the time. But when i redid everything, i actually used an escort driver side airbag with module and sensors. I kind of did it half ass since they obviously dont match up. But the light did go off and it hasnt come on since.

Yeah, when it blinks ... it's giving you a code. See what the code is, then go from there. Use the following link to help.

Okay, checked the codes this morning, came up with code 12, lost battery feed. Not sure why, maybe the fuse blew. Gotta dig deeper (groan!). Thanks again to all who led me in the right direction.
