My hood scoop does not fit flush with the hood around the side - does not contour with the hood.

I tried tightening the hood down but it just doesn't have the same contour.

Anyone else have this on their '07 (or 05-07)? And were you able to fix it?

    Thanks.

I took my car to the dealer last night. They took some photos and submitted them to Ford. Still waiting to hear back from the dealer on Ford's decision - whether or not to repair/replace?

I've already checked the tightness of the 4 bolts holding the scoop to the hood. I noticed that the 4 bolts are closer to the front and middle of the scoop (2 on each side, two towards the front of the scoop and two towards the middle of the scoop). No bolts towards the rear of the scoop where its not flush with the hood.

I don't know what others look like, but to me that is definitely unacceptable. Hope Ford gets it fixed for you.

WOW! Mine is flush - doubt you could even push a sheet of paper between the hood and scoop.

I'll get a pic 4 you! Def need to get that fixed - looks like a tacked on piece from a different car!!!

I just heard form the dealership - said Ford has authorized them to repair/replace it :D

I agree - it doesn't look like it would have shipped with the car 'cause the scoop doesn't even have the same shape as the hood. :(

I was hoping there was a way to try and fix it myself? Like maybe there was a seal between the scoop and the hood that was in the way or something, but it doesn't look like that would be the problem just from looking at the way the scoop shape doesn't match the hood shape.

hopefully these pics will attach. My scoop is flush - it looks better than even these pics show, but the curve on the edge is creating some shadow...

Your scoop and my scoop dont even look the same. I wonder if they did put this scoop on my car (didn't ship with this one from Ford).

Gonna swing by a Ford lot tonight and look at other scoops. It's no biggie any more 'cause they're gonna fix it - just curious. :flag:

    Thanks for the pics.

Hey man I have the same problem on my GT/CS. Its black but when I am driving I can see that the scoop is not flush at all. Now that you mentioned taking it in to Ford I think I will have them look at mine now.

Someone at the plant obviously didn't do their final inspection (it was probably getting close to 4PM on that Friday)...I had the same problem with my rear quarter window where one edge was sticking out slightly...I ended up having to replace the window so it would look right...again, someone missed it on final inspection...

Don't mean to revive an old thread, but, thought I'd post this just to share:

This morning I dropped-off my car at the dealership to fix the e-brake handle because it "buzzes" on rough road surfaces at around 70-ish. While on the lot, I looked at the hood scoops on the GT's in the immediate area of the show room (I think four total) and found all of the hood scoops did not fit flushly.

This is minor stuff, though; the scoop's contour not being perfect with the hood. The scoop on both of my '01 GT's fit perfectly and I guess that I just naturally figured this one should too. But, Ford said they'd fix/replace it.

Anyway, earlier in this thread I said I'd look at other GT's on their lot and here's (finally) the follow-up.

    Cheers.
