My friends automatic 06 GT convertable can't do a burnout, it's ridiculous. I installed the predator tuner and used the "performance tune" and still not able to spin the tires. TCS is turned off, hold the brakes, floor the throttle, and nothing, just sits at about 2300 rpm. Is this normal?

That is definitely not normal. That thing should be melting the asphalt.

For real. I drove a manual and burned rubber in the first two gears without trying. The automatic has to be able to do it.

even the "performance tune" provided by Diablo is less than decent, it doesnt turn off torque managment for low end torque. A better tune in the automatics is a must.

hell even if its a V6 it should still do it. I had an auto V6 stang rental car and it let out some nice smoke. All i did was put it in 1st, turn off the TC hold the brake, rev the engine and let off the brake till she spun. Make sure your letting off the brake a little till it spins.

It was like that before the tune. I tried everything, all the suggestions and it won't do it. If you stand on the brake and floor it the RPM's get to about 2300, then start to drop off to around 15-1700. If you hold the brake a little it just pushes the front a bit but won't brake loose. The car is fast, it will beat my 86 with ported GT 40P heads, longtubes, weiand intake and holley 650 carb so we know it's not slow. But it seems like it has 2.73 gears or something.

You have to turn the traction control off with the predator. Once you put the tune in the button on the dash doesn't work.

Weird, the SCT II doesn't disable the T/C, I wonder why the Predator does.

with the SCT tunes, some turn it off completely. otherwise you have to push the button yourself. there is no "default off" setting. its either off, or on.
