A new Mustanger was born into the world last night: the Baby 'buddha project! :) After a very trying labor, our first baby, a boy, was born last night at 12:26am. It was a surprise because we decided we didn't want to know the gender. I was kinda thinking girl the entire time, fully expecting that I would become the biggest feminist in the world (hell, nobody was gonna tell my baby girl she couldn't be president, or make as much as a man, or rebuild an engine!). I now realize I'll have to be even more of a feminist to make sure my baby boy knows to respect women, especially after seeing my wife go through labor. SHE WAS AMAZING! :worship:

Anyway, I'm exhausted, sleep deprived, hungry, in need of a shower, and anxious to get back to the hospital, but I wanted to share my new "project" with all the good folks here. :nice:

awwww cute!!!!.. damit.. I've really gotta get a girlfriend (i love kids)

I have one. I love kids to death. I don't want any, any time soon. I'm 20. I'm in college. I've finally got my dream car. Nope. No kids for me. Not for at least another 20 years. Maybe when I'm 40.

Thank you everyone for your kind congratulatory words. My wife and I planned this, but we had no idea what the reality would be, good or bad. Sure folks told us how "Hallmark" it would be, and most even acknowledged the stressful side, telling us we wouldn't understand until the baby was actually born. But I gotta say, it's even better and more stressful than anyone could've tried to tell us.

Here is another picture for your viewing enjoyment...

For anyone actually thinking about it, we went through a whole process, from "ok, when we're both done with school" to "ok, when we get out of debt and have enough money saved". And we finally realized "ok, screw all that... poor dumb people have 3 and 4 kids all the damn time, two intelligent over-educated working folks should be able to have one..." We planned and saved and hoped for the best. :nice:
