Guys i have this box looking thing under the factory air filter housing that is all broken. I am not sure what it is but its by the smog pump. Any ideas? A hose goes to it from the upper plenum to a canister and to the box if that helps. Also....i removed my AC hose that goes from the compressor around the upper plenum to a cylinder looking can. I removed the can as well. I want to remove the other hose but am not sure where it disconnects at. I can disconnect it from the compressor but it runs across to the air filter and kind into the rad area. where do i dissconnect this one at?

It's called the charcoal canister
It's filled with activated charcoal. It pulls vented gasoline vapors from the gas tank, filters it through inert charcoal and the vac line pulls it into the engine where it's burned off harmlessly.

I agree and it connects to the larger vacuum hose that runs to the front underside of the stock lower intake..
