Hello gents I am having some major issues! or at least i think so. First things first I can't log kamrfs thats in the process of being fixed but I still have my wide band. To date i have set all scalers values except for the new TB value, using ea set my vbat, injector offsets, base maf curve have not done anything with spark or afr tables. Here my problem when i mat the skinny my wb goes through the roof showing a really lean condition noticing that my fuel pressure droped from 39psi at 10psi vac. to 28psi at 25psi vac., I thought it was a fuel delivery problem so I check a datalog to veify and sure enough i'm going lean. I vented the tank and took it for a drive result same problem lean. check the pump ground and power supply they check out and just to let everyone know i am running aermotive a1000 pump and regulator good for 1100hp -8 feed and -6 return and its plumbed properly. Next thing I tried was removing the vac line from the regulator and just running 39psi still the same problem i mat it and it bogs for the complete length of time its to the floor and goes lean absolutely no power because no fuel or thats my educated guess anyways so is it a tweccer issue or fuel? my guess is its eec related since i did the 39psi vac of run. Thanks in advance for any help Greg
Greg, Can you clean the bold part up a little (I'm confused)? Manifold vac is often measured in inches of mercury and 25" hg would be amazing. In general, less than 30 PSI of fuel pressure is not acceptable. Good luck.
Sorry about that i guess I should clear that up 39psi at 10"hg and then it drops to approx. 28psi at 25"hg so all considering I am within 2 psi of good pressure that being said when I removed the vac. line from the regulator and took the car for a drive the fuel pressure stay between approx. 37-39 psi when I put the hammer down, but I still had the same problem the engine leaned out and bogged it would not stall. I should be able to get the fuel pressure over 30psi by increasing inital pressure setting to 40-42 psi. So I really don't know what to do next its really hard to do a tune when you can't go into wide open throttle!! Have i missed something on my base tune? I am going to run a scan tool on the car tonight for codes. I have replaced the ACT to try and log Kamrfs that didnot work so I check with Clint and he sent me a couple of files to update 1.30 this should enable me to datalog this function. This is really starting to get to me I just want to go for a drive and start tuning!
I check with aeromotive and from what i explained to him he says no fuel pressure drop at wot my system is fine. So here is what I am thinking and if this is the problem do I feel DUMB if you look at my sig. vortec s-trim no belt. So i have the air flowing through the blower with no belt on could this a restriction that would cause the problem i am seeing maybe the maf is not ready correctly just a thought. any ideas
Your fuel pressure should go higher at WOT. When you hit zero vacuum it should jump almost 10psi from idle and part throttle vacuum.
John, I still couldnt figure out the vacuum readings - I think his gauge reads 10" hg too high (his 10" is actually zero, and 25" should be more like 15"). I tried to clarify that but I still couldnt make any sense of it - me-thinks you'll have better luck.
Ok its not my fuel system increased the fuel pressure to 42psi and you guys are right as soon as i get into it the fuel pressure the vac. drops and the fuel goes back to 42 psi. I downloaded the files so I can now log kamrfs now i am having problems opening my files in ea. calcon is showing the eec going in and out of open loop when I am on the throttle about 1/3 way it will pick up speed to about 3000rpm and then hesitate. When I mat it total bog out goes lean but the fuel pressure like i said goes back up to 42psi, the car bogs out and the wot light on calcon does not come on. I defentialy need more tuning but what?
