On the back of the intake is an orange wire. Is it connected to anything? That's for the O2 sensors and if not connected, will make the car run like crap. I'm going through the same damn thing. See my "default" thread a little further down the page. Good luck, dude. I feel your pain. Edit: Here's my thread: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=516654
yeah, i found some of his posts. by reading through some of his posts on the subject, i hope its the egr. anyone know what other cars/trucks/etc. used the same egr system (interchangeable) so that i would just easily go to the junkyard and get one? and yeah, the ego sensor ground is grounded so its not that.
well, changed the EGR and I THINK it runs better, but im not sure, its been raining so i cant really drive it the way i normally do. anyways, the non-HO 302's have the same EGR # if some of you ever wondered. also, my stock oil pressure gauge twitches a little sometimes, even going up to about 3/4 or so. thing is, im not using stock gauges (autometer) so the gauge has no sender that it is reading off of. what can it be? the wire that is supposed to connect to the sender is just hanging there.
pulled codes, got 94 and 44 this time, other ones gone. so whats this mean? and yes, i will do a search as well.
ok i read on the codes, basically the crap between the smog pump and the pipe connected to the heads is malfunctioning. ive had that disconnected for years, would that make my car run funny if it hadnt been before? I dont see why it would. im still not sure though that the car really is even sputtering anymore. also, when my car was stolen, they shredded the ground wire that runs from the firewall to motor. how thick of a wire should i run from the firewall to the block? would that have been a contributor to my running funny?? or the gauge acting funny? i need some responses PLEASE
i cant remember all of this, so ill address the last post. ground is imperative. remember, you cant go wrong with too much ground. i dont know what you need (it depends upon alternator upgrades, etc too). but i would feel good running a 4 gauge ground myself. good luck.
