I meant to post these a few weeks ago. This was a car show around the courthouse in Sedalia, Mo.

Loved the ghost flames on this one.

Apparently flat black was the big thing this year. This is one of the few it actually looked good on.

Before, if you asked my opinion of a flat black paint job with gloss, metalic green flames, my reaction would be :nonono:. But this one actually looked really good. The pic doesn't do it justice; those flames really pop.

The only things on this car that are NOT original are the tires & the air in them , the fluids, plugs, & wires. It also had a cute sign that said "Unless you are completely NUDE, please don't touch this car as watches, rings, & belt buckles tend to scratch."

    That's the cutest trailer ever!

I really like the ghost flames on the Model A (better than the green ones on the '50s car), and that trailer is pretty trick. :nice:

You know, that's one of the nicest non-mach 70s I've ever seen. Most people wouldn't go to the trouble.

Actually... I think it is a Mach 1 since it's got all the Mach trim stuff. You can see the rocker cladding, the grille lamps, the hoodlocks and as best I can tell, it's also got the cobrajet style hoodscoop (with the turn signal indicator lights).

Still, you're absolutely right about it being damn nice. :nice:

Hm... maybe Chelle can answer this for us... I would swear it was just a 70 with some Mach dressup stuff on it. It didn't look like it had the hoodscoop to me... but I may be crazy, I'm very very tired. No mach stripes....

    Chelle? can you settle this?

NO, MINE'S BIGGER! Let me get a tape measure... :p j/k... I do love a good Sherlock Holmes style mystery, where you only have the resource of deduction.

With that said, I'm not sure which Mach stripes you might be referring to other than the standard Mach 1 hood stripes. They didn't have side stripes in '70 other than special models like the Twister Specials or the ARE Pace cars. I totally agree that it's hard to tell about the hoodscoop, but I was going on the wiring that is leading into the rear of the hood, which would be the wiring for the in-scoop turn signal indicators.

    Where's Chelle?

I think it's a Mach, but I'm not 100% sure. Dad knows (or maybe just knows of) the guy who owns it so I'll have to ask him. Apparently the guy tried raffeling it off once. Sold a bunch of tickets at $100 a pop then found out that private, not for charity, raffels are illegal and had to give all the money back.

I recently heard from my neighbor, a realtor, of someone doing that with a house in CA. He made 500k on a 300k house? Not sure if it was illegal in CA or not!!!

Hm... okay, I've woken up quite a bit, and you're right about the wires there...
I dunno what I was on this morning... I was looking for boss 302-style side-striping. Not thinking, evidently.

Tazer hangs his head in shame... Tazer was :owned:
