Carb newbies....READ THIS:

This is like a blessing to those of you (hell even i'm learning from it) who are new to carbs and have a lot of questions about how to pick the right carb and how to tune..etc.

Holley has put out a DVD that pretty much will school you from beginning to end...it's damn near priceless if you plan on seriously running a carb.

Go to the video section, then the carb tuning link to see 4 clips from the DVD...they're in totally plain English and super easy to follow. WAY better than trying to read a book about it.

Also...and this is a good one for all those guys out there who think the biggest carb is the best carb...check out their carb sizing section. It's even in PDF format so you can save a copy for yourself.

cool. I don't know anything about carbs, but a friend has a 74 Vette that's carbed. He was telling me that it has a mechanical secondary carb on it and he and his dad think it would be better w/ a vacuum secondary. That link seems to suggest that mechanical secondaries are better?

It just depends on how you plan on driving your car. If you want to know that all 4 venturies are open at full throttle, go with mech. sec. because i've had vacuum sec. fail on me a ton of times.
