I was looking at the magnaflows, Dynomax superturbos or Ultra flows. If anyone have used any of the mufflers please let me know what you think of the sound. Dont want anything too loud, just a nice deep tone. I have straight pipes now and i am TIRED of the loud exhaust note. just want something to tone down. I have bassani x with cats and PI heads. if taht makes a difference. Here are the links to the mufflers i am looking at...

If you know of any other mufflers i should consider please let me know. Do you all recommend i get them welded in or just clamped on?

    Thanks again

I recommend one chamber flows all the way!! :nice:

Nah just kidding they would be too loud for your taste. I dont know too much about Magnaflow, but whatever mufflers you do go with have those suckers welded on! That is a must!

go with the magnaflows they are super top quality. get the catback, it bolts right in with no problems. if you are going to keep the bassani catted x it should sound similar to mine. i have the slp catted x. it is nice quiet when you stomp on it it opens up and sounds like a high performance car, not exactly like a muscle car. high performance mustang, like id assume the 2000 cobra r sounds. i love it, and i dont have to worry about getting pulled over.

i had off road pipe and flows first, and got pulled over too much.

In my opinion the Magnaflow sound horrible with an O/R midpipe. The best sounding combo ive heard was Flowmaster/Dr. Gas. My friend has a Dr. Gas/Magnaflow cat back on his Cobra and it sounds too raspy and what not. But its just personal opinion.

he has a bassani catted x....i think. i have no rasp at all because of the cats. i know what rasp sounds like cause of my previous combo. now that was terrible.

Put the 15671 kit on my 2004GT 4.6

Great quality, easy to install, and sounds nice.

I would say the Magnaflow set up is about 10% louder than stock.

i have the superturbos and catted magnaflow x pipe and it is maybe 1% louder than stock :( i didn't want to go with the or x pipe but i think i might now so i can actually hear my stang , oh yea the quality was horrable the tips are not cut even at all and i don't mean that the one side sticks out farther than the other i mean the this tips look like they were cut by somebody with tin snips.

Magnaflow catback, make sure the shop installs it as far back as they can - mine was installed and welded and over big bumps the rear sway bar hits and drives me nuts !! I am adding the mm full length subframe connectors mac lt's and mac catted h pie to see if the problem goes away, if not back to the muffler shop for some kind of fix !!!

I dont want to get any kinds of catback. I just want the mufflers. Since i have read that the supertubos are not very loud, i might get the Ultra_flows. I dont want to spend more than $120 on mufflers. I already have a 3.5" tip welded on. So it's almost like a one piece catback. Just need mufflers to quiet down the car a bit, not tooo much. Thanks again.

Mac's a loud and droney. They're nearly identical to 2-chamber 40-series Flow. Had em on my last Stang and wouldn't do it again. Don’t get me wrong, they sound nice at idle and when you’re getting on it, but for a daily driver that you like to hear the radio....or your self think for that mater in, once and a while, they’re not your optimum choice.
