i'd like to see a pic if you have one...the stock h-pipe on my old mustang was rusted and had over 140k miles on it when this happen...it didn't look any different
you could pass it on the computer... mine was clogged real bad, and i was damn broke so i opened them all and emptied all 6 of them, now they are free flowing!

if u gut the cats just make sure you get all of the "honeycomb" out, cause and leftover pieces go into the muffler- which makes an annoying sound till you finally blow them out or take the exhaust down and empty it

Drrrrrrrrrone!!! I did that with my stock H-pipe and though it sounded like @ss. The resonance sound combinded with my aftermarket exhaust drove me nuts!

how hard was that to do? hehe
and i have 120K miles...i think my g/f's getting me a catted X for my birthday though
O/R H-pipes are cheap, just go out and buy one and save yourself the headache. You could always turn around and sell the O/R H later on when you get your catted-X and you've still got your factory pipe come smog time. When you get the stock one off, try spraying some Carb Cleaner or Brake Cleaner into it and see if it un-gums itself.
