Do v-8 struts work on our cars?

    okay so I received the struts.. and they don't fit! but their is some shim..

    If I remove those shims, could it be dangerous? Or they will hold just fine?

    I prefer ask before starting any modifications on these..

    I am curious about all this as well as i might be trading for an 88 2.3 hatch 5 spd thats been converted to a V8 but still has all the 2.3 suspension. It will be needing struts soon and I have a set of 02 GT springs I am going to try and use since the 4 cylinder springs are just too soft. Yes I know the 02s will make it sit higher thats why I am going to do what a lot of people are against and cut the springs. I dont care if it rides rough it will drive better than 2.3 springs.
