I'm having a problem with a rubbing/grinding type of noise from the right rear of my car. It happens when you turn into a driveway as the car twists. This started after the Eibach Pro Kit springs were installed. There is no noise from the left rear??? The installer has done over a hundred Mustangs with these springs and can't find the problem with mine. I called Eibach and the tech said they have not had any problems with REAR spring noises. Has anyone else had this problem, and more importantly, found a solution? Thanks in advance, Rick
No other suspension mods. I called a performance shop here called Apex Motorsports. They suggest never installing high rate lowering springs without also using new shocks, struts and an upper strut mount with proper HD bearing and camper adjustment. That doesn't really address my noise issue but it got me considering switching to Steeda Ultra Light springs, HD upper strut mount and non adjustable Pro Action shocks and struts. Maybe with the Steeda parts all engineered to work together the car will be "happy" and quit with all the noise issues. I think I would also get new Ford upper and lower rubber spring seats. Comments????
I have the eibach prokit springs all the way around and have zero noise issues. Can you have someone enter or exit a driveway slowly so you can get close enough to diagnose while they cause the noise? Sometimes you gotta enlist in the buddy system..
If you haven't already tried this, jack the rear of the car up and hit the spring, hard, with a hammer, and then lower the car back down. This has worked for a couple of people with your problem.
